I ran 6 miles in 60 minutes for the first time. It was actually quite hard, if I hadn't made it a specific goal I probably would have stopped after 40 minutes, but I really wanted to see if I could do it. I had wondered what my next goal should be before this -- now it's just to do it again in another month or so, and see if it's any easier :)
Down to 255 lbs. This is what I weighed in 1999, and hopefully I'll be moving back in time further as this year goes on!
That's 1,268 calories, btw.
Wow! That's amazing!!! It will get easier in a month, I know it will!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the continuing weight loss. I think about it sometimes, how much better I feel now that I am no longer significantly overweight, and I am impressed by how much happier and healthier I feel. More and more days, though, I don't think about it at all. I no longer feel like I am a "fat woman in a skinny body." I just feel like I am about the size I am supposed to be. I have been wearing the exact same size for about a year now. That feels pretty good. I just bought a couple of clothing items on-line and when I bought them I knew I was a size medium in that brand. Sure enough, when the clothes came in the mail, they fit perfectly. It just feels good to be at a healthy weight and to be relatively fit. I know you must be enjoying the feelings of improved fitness, too.
It really is worth all the hard work and effort. We have several decades left and we might as well enjoy them. Life is so much more fun in a fit body. There is just no denying that fact!!!
It's kind of funny, Carla said to me last weekend, "I'm so proud of you for keeping the weight off," and that initially struck me as an odd comment. I almost just shrugged if off as inconsequential. I am so completely adjusted to this body and this lifestyle that it was almost a, "Well, this is how much I weigh now," response. Something clicked inside this brain-of-mine and I just feel different. It sure makes the daily decisions a whole lot easier. I hope that is where you are getting, as well.
Have a great day, Thad!
OMG Thaddeus -- you are doing great! An hour on the treadmill and 6 miles is hard. With this kind of cardio, the weight will keep coming off. You are the lightest you've been in 15 years. That's wonderful. And Roberta's right. You'll be this new person forever.
